Gastric sleeve surgery is a surgical procedure in which Dr. Jesus Nunez removes a part of the stomach and then rejoins the remaining portion to form a much smaller stomach area.
Once the gastric sleeve surgery is completed the functional portion of the stomach will typically be shaped like a long and narrow banana. The newly constructed stomach sleeve is typically equivalent to about one-tenth the size of a normal stomach, allowing recipients of the procedure to feel full much more quickly while eating. In addition to not being able to eat nearly as much as you once were able to before the procedure, the gastric sleeve surgery also removes the portion of the stomach most responsible for producing hunger hormones. With fewer hunger hormones flowing into your bloodstream, you will be able to substantially maintain a much healthier and reduced appetite.
